Above: Not far from where it all began...

Where it all started:

Ahhh, it always ceases to amaze me how good certain cars can look with just the simplest of mods - in this case as set of 17" x 8" Chicanes by ROH bolted to Bryan's immaculate EL XR8.  Perhaps it's the colour Regency - but you can almost imagine the sound produced via the ceramic coated Pacemaker headers and 3" Lukey exhaust - amongst today's copy cat world of vacuum cleaners and zero offset rims this example stands out like a shining star.

K & N filtration helps keep the nasties from destroying the 5.0 litre bent eight with Yella Terra Stealth 172 ratio Roller Rockers and a new chip finding their way under the bonnet. "The (ECU) handled the air cleaner and exhaust mods no worries, but balked at the rockers so I had to have a Chiptorque chip fitted and then dyno'd."

Above: v2.0 - and a lot closer to terra firma!

- All in all seeing 128kW at the wheels - without sacrificing fuel economy! "I still get 600km cruising on 120km/h" says Bryan (must be up in the Northern Territory eh?) Making sure the stopping matches the going a set of DBA cross drilled and slotted front rotors were installed along with Bendix Advance pads - bringing much better braking abilities and an unexpected reduction in brake dust to dull those magnificent rims.

Pedders springs and shocks found their way underneath bringing the whole shooting match 20mm lower to mother earth than Ford ever intended it with a camber / caster kit allowing similar settings to be dialled in copied from the new BA XR6. "Recently I had the pleasure of testing this out travelling the Great Alpine Hwy over Mt Hotham from Wangaratta to Bairnsdale.  - What a buzz that was, on the throttle, on the brakes, turn and punch it out, yeeha!!!"

Rather than follow the crowd and select the lazy option, Bryan has chosen the manual way giving a true sporting experience and the ability to select what ever RPM he likes as he leaves the line in a cloud of tyre smoke or as quietly as a mouse trying not to attract the fun busters. Next on the list of things to do is a body kit which we're told will be sooner rather than later so we look forward to seeing the results.  Thanks Bryan for brightening up the world a little - we sure appreciate it and hope you do to...

Above:  v1.0 again - despite it's higher ride height it looked so good we thought we had to include it here...what a colour!
