Daniel's EL GT:

(Back to EL Visitors Cars)

Silver body kit hi-lights make for an interesting touch vs. the standard dark grey items!

Going from strength to strength, Daniel's move from his EB XR8 (which his wife Shelley now drives) wasn't going to be easy - but when temptation came with GT badges affixed to it - who was he to argue?  Purchased early 2003 this is one GT that wasn't going to stay stock for long.  Now while there's no doubting the attraction of that sumptuous exterior or even the luxuriously appointed suede leather clad interior - but with only 200kW nobody could blame him for wanting more...

Left: With an interior like this - it'd be a sin to go modifying it!

Not one to muck around, the supercharger was purchased after only the first week of ownership giving Daniel's first impressions in regard to power...

Starting with a Vortech supercharger, hi-flow cats and a 3" exhaust quickly followed with a drive-belt-slipping 271hp at the treads!  That fixed, figures of 286hp and 690Nm of torque were quickly dispatched - despite the factory's weak spark meaning the whole show wouldn't rev much beyond 5000rpm!

A Crane HI-6 ignition system soon joined the list of goodies with a Crane LX-92 coil blasting away for a dyno proven 305hp.  But with the auto on the way out, Daniel had other things on his mind...  Eventually lobbing on a six-speed Tremec T56 (manual) with a high performance Exeedy clutch (the all in or all out type - nothing like a little excitement!)  It would not be an understatement to say Daniel does not plan to make much use of the the GT's luxury tendencies...

Above:  What's the good of being able to go if you can't stop?  Daniel makes sure his GT shares the best of both worlds...

Left:  Where all the fun starts!  Can you spot the Big Bad Wolf?

Now right about then Daniel sensibly figured that with all this potential to go fast, time was ripe to do something with those brakes - upgraded beyond Tickford's factory fitted Premium options helping turn the go-into-whoa.  Couple this with a new set of 255 Falken tyres and you'll know what we mean when we say G-forces are this baby's forte...  Now right about now you're probably seeing dollar signs galore, but it would have been a whole heap more except for the talented efforts of Daniel and good mates Josh & Tim.  Now that's what I call friends!

Above and Right:  Tremec coupled with Exeedy clutch give real bite - and live to tell the tale!

Keeping the inside as cool as the exterior a good lashing of tint joins forces with the standard factory air-con to make sure Daniel never raises a sweat while he thinks about future plans for this ultra-special Henry.  "After I put it back on the dyno, the plan is to fit a Herrod billet short throw shifter, porting the GT-40 heads further and making a custom upper inlet with twin throttle bodies - after that i dunno.  - One things for sure...... it really feels like a GT now!"  With everything he's accomplished to date - we don't doubt Daniel's battle plan one little bit.

When a car looks this good, you'll have to excuse us if we try and fit the rest of the photos
in that Daniel sent us!  We'll let you do the talking:

Grabbing some quality dyno time while belting out those awesome figures mentioned above!

It ain't easy being green - "hmmm - there's something out of place in here and I just can't figure out what?"

More pics out on display with the Newcastle Xtreme Performance Ford Club of whome Daniel is heavily involved...

Leading the pack is Daniel's wife's EB XR8 (Shelley) which of course you can check more out of here...

Or of course you can discuss any of Daniel's chosen vehicles by going to our Automated Discussion Pages!  Looking forward to seeing you there...
