This picture of a EB S-XR8 was sent in by Jeff of Geelong, who has regretted selling
it ever since the day he handed the keys over! Built in February 1992, this car formed part of a historical return of the Australian
Falcon to V8 power under the watchful eye of Jack Nasser - then
President of Ford Australia (Now head of Ford world wide). Jeff
tells me the EB S-XR8 was a model produced by Ford, not Tickford and
looked identical to the S-XR6 of the same year except the XR8 had a
polished surface to the mags, unlike the XR6 which were painted.
The "S" preceding the XR badging was a throw back to the last 14 years of
performance Falcons (if you could call them that).
"I was rapt in the look of the EF Tickford mags when I first
saw them and sourced a set ASAP. I was never too keen on the 16"
5-spoke mag that Ford had used on EB/ED etc. At the same time as I
put the 16's on I also fitted the Pedders suspension."
Thanks Jeff for the photo and information!
