Taking a popular theme and applying it to Ford's AU2 XR8 Falcon Ute, Jay's creation leaves you asking that with so many of these Utes having been transformed such (digitally), how long will it be until someone goes and builds the real thing! Of course the modification we speak of is the re-merging of rear-tray and cabin going back to the concept started by Lew-Brandt oh-so-many years ago in 1934 with Ford's Coupe Utility.

Not sufficiently satisfied to stop there, Jay trimmed the tonneau clips replacing the standard soft tarpaulin with a vinyl covered hard-back cleverly engineered to open around the Ford optioned 'sports bar'. When the AU2 first came out I questioned the look of the XR's new 17's but now retract every comment I ever made after seeing Jay's pairing of 19" fronts and 21" rears - just the way they ought to have been - Factory Perfect!
Providing a similiar visual improvement Jay dropped the lot on it's guts with tinted windows and removal of the side indicators getting the nod in this tough-yet-simple modification scheme. Just goes to show there's a lot of life left in the Factory look! Our only question is who's going to be first to build it? Thanks Jay for sharing this awesome beast with us and wish you all the best in one day being able to build your dream car...
