When the webmaster of a Holden V8 Supercar team chooses a XR8 over the more logical SS you've just got to sit up & take notice. As webmaster of Lansvale Racing's website (www.lrt.com.au) Joel's XR8 is one of the first AU3's to receive the Tickford treatment - with a build date beginning with the 1st of November 2001, you don't get much closer than that!

Not holding back with his new purchase, Joel managed to hit the circuit with few regrets and only a week's running in giving a few VX SS owners a wake up call to boot - Joel tells it the best "I can tell you there are two quite pissed off VXII SS drivers out there who managed to get their ass kicked by a twenty year old out there in a stock one week old XR8!" Whoohoo! Could it be that the road cars don't hold fast to Ford's on-track performances? "Around the Eastern Creek Racetrack the car was good for about 205kph in 4th gear at the bottom of the straight and 165kph-170kph through turn one."
Sounds good to us! But then again we always knew the Falcon had it where it counts - in stock standard factory trim and Joel's driving efforts more than prove that. Not bad driving effort that - and we look forward to hearing further Commodore thrashing tales (all done in totally legal circumstances of course!)
