Enter one brand spanking new BA xr8 ute!  A blank canvas if I ever saw one...

What do you do when you need a ute for work but want to have a bit of fun as well?  Why - you grab an XR8 of course!  And when you list your address as "Drive though Vic, head down hill, when you start heading uphill you have just passed my place" you can understand the need for a vehicle that covers distances with ease as well being fun to coax through the corners...

When the family business calls...it ain't wise to say no.  But I've just one question -
is the sign in relation to trucking or just the Boss hiding beneath the bonnet?

It's interesting the things you find when you're out and about.  But don't stop for too long!

A regular to our discussion pages, and working for a company that manufactures GPS guidance systems mostly for use in agriculture, Lostboy gets to see more of our country than most.  - Hence his personal website, www.lostboysadventures.com with photos of lots more than just Falcon utes!  Highly recommended for a visit, and while you're there check out Lostboy's previous ride - one seriously cool AU Falcon ute.  But back to things of a more current nature...

Yeahah...just hope that kangaroo doesn't go getting any funny ideas...

What's better than one XR8 Falcon ute?  Three XR8 utes of
course!!!  Now all they need is a bride and some streamer!

Purchased new on the 23rd May 2003, this is one particular XR8 that doesn't get treated with kit gloves.  So when you travel for a living, you're priorities are going to be a little bit different to the average city dweller - so in the first weekend of having her, Losboy had the hard cover and roll bar off of the old the AU installed - as did the rest of the stuff inside - from UHF to hands free phone kit, fridge and extra power sources to run the lot!

Right (above): getting those final options added at the dealer.  Left (above): Fitting a BA beneath the AU's hard cover.

Now, with a 5.4 litre, a bit of a lead foot (wouldn't you be if you owned a BOSS?) and plenty of miles to cover, Lostboy quickly got sick of having to fill the beast up every day or so, so after much looking around a "mate" found a place which made long range fuel tanks, "so now she holds around 125lts of fuel... great when you fill her to the top and see the bill!" says Losty...   With that, the last addition to has been of all things - a Sunnies holder out of a BA Fairmont - to keep the shades from becoming all scratched and broken up!

From there, once Losty laid eyes on Ford's new RTV he had to have one - and when a hi-rise Falcon ute meant heaps less wear and tear on the XR8, what can a bloke say?

- 'Cept "can I have one with the lot?"  (Okay - so we think that's what Lostboy said)

Either way - that's how it arrived "ordered with hard cover and almost every other option I could get ... from [either] the factory or dealer."  So now that the XR8 is confined to more fun-loving activeties, Lostboy can get back to dreaming of more stuff to do - "most of the things I have in mind take a bit of working out how to do, so by the time they are done sometimes they are different to the original idea - and I guess that is one of the reason most of my plans are secrets..."  Sounds fair enough to us - so we look forward to updates on Lostboy's amazing adventures!!!

Have ute will travel - and be able to take in great sights such as this!

What better way to finish off than this?
