Micheal's Toy
A cool EL GLi courtesy of Pioneer

What better way to kick start your dream build than buy a car already half completed? Rather than work from scratch himself, Micheal jumped at the chance to buy an ex-Pioneer demo giving him all of the good gear in one foul swoop.

And who cares if it's a season or two old? Costing Pioneer $8K plus to build, this baby is set to provide many hours of listening pleasure for new owner Micheal, who already has a few mods of his own in the mix helping improve on the 130dB limit of the original system.

The current system comprises of:
  • a 51cd stacker 'Breadbox' (just in case you have to fill in for the local radio station)
  • 4 x 10" Bullet Series subs.
  • 6" and 3" splits with tweeters for the front.
  • 2 x 3 way 6" splits for the rear.
  • Voice recognition system to change cds, radio, etc.
  • 4 x Amps (various outputs, etc).
  • 2 x graphic displays.
  • equaliser.

Right:  Did you expect the boot to be any less impressive in a ex-Pioneer audio display vehicle?

Just in case you were wondering how the heck you fit a pair of 6" splits in the front doors...

Body wise, a custom front bar compliments the factory styled side and rear skirts with similiarily styled rear spoiler completing the look. Now if sweet and subtile is your thing then this baby ain't for you with that loud and lairy paint leaving no doubt as to which brand makes it's home in the Falcon's cavernous interior. The 16" Auscar mags with 225/50 R16's almost look tame compared to this - but suit the car nicely all the same.  The rest of the mechanical package may be standard except for the 2 1/2" exhaust and Pod air cleaner but this is one clean, cool cruiser - great for impressing the friends and keeping ears free of ear wax.  Rice may be nice but this is one demonstrator that is sure to keep it's collectability status if it survives long enough to make it into old age. And the way Micheal's going, it's got a good chance too...

Ahhh - don't you just love that typical Australian landscape? Beaut scenery and tough cars - what can be better?
