Nik's Beasts - And The Return of the Panel Van:

(Back to AU Drawings.)

Sent in by avid Panel Van fan Nik, these two make you wish Ford would do something to see the return of the 'pano' - even if it involved fibreglass!  Perhaps the ultimate 2-door life style vehicle, using Nik's creations you can race and sleep at the end of the day all without changing seating positions - starting out with Ford's awesome just-released 250kW 'Pursuit Ute' and massaging the body into something more pleasing - just the thing for the budding race team.

Version 1 takes the stock (if you can call a Pursuit Ute stock) Ford offering and melds the tray with the cabin - necessary for the joining of both by one huge roof.  Impressively Nik has managed to keep the feel of how the 'Blue Print' colour may react under the sun on the newly created shapes fading it to the top as the metallic shines through producing that beautiful bright 'flash' of colour as the panels curve over onto the roof.  Next he added a clever half-moon window behind the Ute's original for extra vision while keeping with the old 'pano flavour in check.  Impressively, for those techno junkies Nik has also managed to get the reflections true to the cause making for an incredibly complete rendering!

Version 2 takes the whole shooting match to an entirely different level altogether - dropping the lot in the weeds and adding those monster 18" - now 22" - TS50 wheels just for effect with a small roof mounted spoiler to help keep the tail on the ground.  We reckon Nik would have had to at least substitute the 250kW 5.6 litre stroker for a F-series V10 for this effort making the donk as mad as the rest of the car!  Thanks Nik - you sure kept us entertained, keep an eye out for Nik's other creations over the coming weeks - you won't be disappointed!
