This picture is a copy of a poster that was displayed at the 1999 Tickford Open Day and forms one of a collection that were submitted during the design process of the AU Falcon series I.  The colour in the drawing looks great – but in reality would have looked crap.  The bonnet scoops look remarkably like a Pontiac Firebird or Chevrolet Camaro of the 70’s while the colour looks like it comes straight off a Chrysler Roadrunner or the like of the same era.  Do you think the artist here was a fan of the opposition’s US muscle cars of the 70’s?  I think so!  The design also uses headlights borrowed from the previous model’s XR range so would not have matched the excellent light output of the base models – never the less this would have made an extremely racy aggressive looking car – one I could imagine myself driving.
