- Take a Ride on the Wild Side!
(Back to EL Drawings.)
Not satisfied by Ford's efforts on the EL Predator (see EL Falcon Showcars)
Toby got to and created his own version from a photo taken at a Motor Show when the car was
new. Starting by taking the Predator's rather standard bodywork, Toby created what he
calls "a big arse body kit" for it (and who are we do dis-agree?) lowering it closer to the
way it should have been created in the first place.
Toby tells it like we'd all like to build - "If I was doing the mods to it, I would have a
supercharged 6 cylinder engine with heaps of NOS on tap, pumping out about 350kW on full
boost without the aid of NOS. I would keep the factory auto gearbox, just beef it up
a bit. I would put a monster tacho / shift light on the dash near the A pillar, a boost
gauge in front of the original tacho on the instrument panel, along with a gauge
which indicates how full/empty the NOS tanks are."

"I would have 3 missile type switches attached to the centre console next to the gear
selector, one for the NOS, one to turn the subwoofers on/off, and another to control boost
between low/medium/high. As far as the tunes go, a totally wicked stereo is in
order including a Alpine TV head unit, DVD player and stacker, front and rear 6" DDDrive
splits (in doors), Rear 6x9s(parcel shelf). To top this off I would have four V12
amps powering the speakers and 2 x 12" MTX subs and 2 x 15" MTX subs in the boot."
"Included would be in a fully moulded fibreglass enclosure covering the whole boot interior
painted the same colour as the exterior. 2 x 15" subs would be against the back
seat facing forwards, with 2 x 12's at the rear behind and slightly above the wheel
arches, facing backwards and slightly up and in. On the floor I would have a
Perspex window with the NOS tanks underneath, surrounded with gold neon
lights just to give the right effect. There would be another 2 of 4 amps in similar
Perspex windows on their sides each side of the boot." - As we can see, Toby has had
lots of time to think all this through and promises "when I am old enough to get my
license and/or the money, you will definitely see this car cruising the streets."
Finally, we'll let Toby take the floor to finish us off on this "MAD" article; - "I usually
prefer Holden's over Fords, but after seeing some of the sick EL Falcons here and on other
sites, I am now in love with that model. I am a bit of a pinhead too, as I mainly like
turbo 4's and 6's, and I'm not really into the whole cubic inches are better thing,
more so into getting stacks of herbs out of smaller capacity turbo engines as I find that to be
more technically challenging." Toby would like to speak to anyone who feels of
similar mind, so if you agree you can contact him via email by clicking
here.
