Nikola's BA turbo XR8 custom:

Ahhh - BA XR88888..... There are some subject that will get us every time, and when they're done as well as this one there's no arguing this one's place on these pages... Starting with Ford's pre-release promo shots (notice the incorrect bonnet) Nikola quickly added the lower bumper section off of a AU3 250 Pursuit Ute angled slightly upwards giving an angry look. Next came the clever but subtile widening of Ford's optional 18" wheels and tyres for a look that we can only just hope for...

Now everybody knows about the BA XR6 Turbo but how's this for going over the top? Rather than sit on her hands Nikola chose to overcome the Barra260's overly small ports with sheer force courtesy of two turbos and a front mounted intercooler. Considering how well the 4.0 litre responded, how much power this lot'd make is anybody's guess... Finally, ditching the Ford grill Nikola added a much more attractive two-bar stainless item losing the Blue Oval at the same time. All in all, a very surprising and effective modification scheme that manages to look better than Ford's original offering (a hard task considering) - top points from us - now all we need is that XR8...
