The SLIK BA Story:

I bought the car only 4 weeks ago as a stock futura, it was a ‘blue care nurse’ company car!! Score!! I wanted something different to what I was seeing on nearly every road…XR6’s XR8’s and XT’s, so I got myself the futura which has got pretty much everything that you get in a Fairmont.
I was always going to put 19” or 20” wheels on her but decided to go the 19”’s for economical reasons (20” tyres are around 500 buck a pop!!).
The sound system was always going to be big and custom, thanks to the boys at Redcliffe Northfield! Although we’re only half way there with the stereo!
Two more amps are coming, 2 sets of R-Type splits, dvd player and 7 inch screen, custom doors and parcel shelf, then maybe some more speakers in the boot with a 15” screen on the boot lid.
The stock xr6 spoiler wasn’t going to cut it, as the feet are attached to the wing as separate pieces so I got my old mate Russell to fix a one piece jobbie to her.
NIZPRO are going to be looking after the go fast side of things with a supercharger and intercooler package which should see her hitting close to 400kw!! Sweeeeeet!! HO are supplying me with a body kit like no other!! SO WATCH THIS SPACE!!!!!!

My last ride was an EF Gli with 16” alloys, lowered with another huge alpine/clarion stereo, no wing, which I reckon looks best on a stocker. All I did mechanically was an air filter, full race spec exhaust as seen in the old tourers class (EA-EL vs VN-VS), which sounded fully sick! She also had tinted windows and a tow bar!!My old man and I are also looking at restoring either a 66-67 mustang as an ‘Eleanor’ or just a tuff as nails Mach3 Mustang! So if you know of some cheap ones going plz let us know!!!

Thanks! Dave Day.

We reckon:

A very original BA! For some reason the stripes make it so unique, and those wheels give it that "what the?" feel - making you look twice!

Is this one of the first BA's with a big stereo?? We think so, or at least it's the first to grace this website! Sensational effort Dave - let us know how the supercharger goes!

Discuss Dave's pride and joy here!
