The Historic Racing Car Club of Queensland will celebrate its 30th

on 11 and 12 August, when 240 historic cars from all over
Australia will compete in the 40 event programme.
Vehicles will include high revving Lotuses, Brabhams from the 60s, sports cars and other race cars from the 30s to the 80s. Rumble and roar will be courtesy of big bore Ford, Holden and Chevy V8 touring cars from the 70s and 80s. Almost 70 historic touring cars (including Group A and Group
C touring cars which are the ‘ancestors’ of the V8 Supercars) are
entered. It is the first time in the 30 year history of this event
that two full fields will be needed for Group Nc touring cars.
Key events include:
· A touring car race competing for The Jack Lacey trophy
· The John French Trophy for Group A and C cars.
· Historic Sports Cars competing for The Queensland Tourist
Trophy
·Tasman and Grand Prix cars competing for The HRCC trophy
I will be going out on Sunday at this stage, and looking to get there around 8:30-9:00. I have a few people to see in the paddock area to chase some info and bits, but will then be looking at settling down to watch the day's racing.
Anyone interested in going out there and want to catch up, PM me before Saturday and I'll let you know my mobile so we can get in touch and organise a meeting spot at the track.
Sorry about the late notice but I wasn't sure if I was getting to the meeting this year or not until today,
Matt
