S.E Queensland Saturday Cruise. Subject description: (1/11/08) |
|
Looking at putting together a Weekend Cruise on Saturday 2/11/08. (Date brought forward to accomodate the Recliffe Car show) Possibly looking at a run up to Toowoomba at this stage.
I'm hoping to meet up at Picnic Point around lunch time, throw a few snags on the barby, kick back and get to know a few of you over a cold drink.
So, if you have a ford, (including one thats an up and coming superstar, but not yet running), you're more than welcome to attend.
Simply post here and once I get an idea of numbers ETC, I'll put together a few more details and we can go from there.
For those who may be looking at covering a bit of distance to attend, if you're chasing accomodation, sing out, I have 2 rooms available here in Ipswich for an overnight stay.
**UPDATED**
Okay so the date is settled, (I even have it right this time! )
Basically the plan is, to meet up either at Picnic Point or, (preferably) at Amberley Mobil Roadhouse and we'll go from there. For those who ARE able to meet at Amberley, meet us there between 10:00 - 10:30, (we'll head off at 10:30) on the Saturday Morning.
We'll head up the hill the LONG way, through Rosewood, Grandchester, Gatton and onwards.
If anybody is unsure of just where the Amberley Roadhouse is, send me a PM and I'll fill you in.
Once up there, we'll invade Picnic Point, cook up some snags and kick back for the arvo. B.Y.O Snags and drinks, however, should you forget I'm sure there will be a few to spare ones amongst us!
(BTW That isn't an invitation to be a slacker and rock up empty handed! )
It should be a fun day out and a great chance to get know everybody. Depending on how we're all feeling after lunch there are some places around Toowoomba that offer a decent drive and something to see. Crow's Nest, the Dam's, Valley of the Diamonds, etc.
We'll look into that more on the day tho.
Since I'm too cheap to own one, should anybody happen to have a camera, more specifically one of those fancy digital bastards that takes crystal clear pictures, please let me know as I'm looking for somebody to take a swag of pics for the forums
I think that about covers it at this stage, if anybody has any questions, feel free to post here or send me a PM.
FORDS ONLY
Cheers, hope to see you all there.

Yeah, I would try to allow up to 3 weeks notice, we all have lives to live afterall
The 9th is 3 saturdays time, so assuming the date doesnt need to change, we'll go with that. Should the date have to change, we'll push it back further to make sure we can get the maximum turnout possible.
These sorts of things are fun even with a few people, but the more cars and people we can get, the more fun there is to be had

Well, like i mentioned in the other thread we have 'at least' 4 cars in the area that are active members here, so i would be keen if they all make an effort to come
i "should" have new tyres by then, as im getting rears this Wed, then a couple more weeks of saving for the fronts

Yeah the Redcliffe car show on the same date isn't so good. I'll update the post and try for the 2/11. Shorter notice than I'd like, (I prefer 3-4 weeks), but eh, lets see how many CAN make it on the 2/11 and if it looks like being a fizzer, we'll act accordingly.

I deleted your other post, so this is now the main one.
I tell ya, it sounds good. The missus and I are up for it so put us down to go. Just make sure everyone brings the girls so they have nothing to complain about!

the 2nd is a Sunday, so which day is it?
my missus usually has weekend hours so kinda need to know a date/day which is cemented in concrete that we can all stick to, so she can roster off work.
