hi everyone,
about 3 months ago i bought a nice original ed fairmont ghia, 115,000ks and am the 4th owner. the car is in great shape, inside and out. a concern i have is the handling in the wet, have no confidence in it whatsoever. am in nz, and decided to see my parents in chch after the second big quake, was living in nelson at the time, so drove through the middle of the south island, mountains, twisting roads, great driving. however it was raining, and twice the car lost grip and slid, i was doing the speed limit good driving lines, it seems like the centre of gravity is too high ... has anyone else experienced this ? am not particulary mechanically minded, prefer the driving side of things, apart from lowering it, does anyone have any suggestions ?

Hi there - new rear shocks, watts link bushes and trailing arm bushes. If that doesnt fix it good enough for you you may need to investigate alternative diff housing covers. From the ED-EF-EL the pick up progressively moved further down the cover. I am in the process of swapping EF to EL cover to improve the snap happy tail - having already done watts, shocks buishes etc.
Good luck and let us know.
