I shall remain stoicly hopeful. Especially after how successful the T6 came out.

Also, I gotta be honest, an AWD twin-turbo Falcon would be awesome. Just not if it comes at the expense of Aussie jobs.

When I left, the FG was supposedly being engineered for LHD, so unless they canned that program the ground work should have been done. But where would they export it to, with Frawd's attitude toward Aussie products?

AWD & Falcon is obviously possible using Aussie architecture - RE Territory - so why not XR6T AWD instead of Taurus? That'd be my wish - but Ford OZ is too close to the grave to seriously think of that. They're too busy just trying to keep head above water - with talk even the ute's future is threatened. Dimwits.

If you had seen the inside view of Ford's Aussie factories that I had seen - you'd know why I am so pessimistic about their future. In Geelong, Polites sold the entire Plant 5 complex (now going to be Godfrey Hurst carpet manufacturing at bargain basement pay rates), and the entire Stamping / Toolroom / aluminium casting areas (makes up over 60% of the remaining factory area in Geelong) are a ghost-town with less than 10% of the employees left that were there 20 years ago and the majority of facilities stripped out or moth-balled. The engine plant may still be running, but is also down to less than 30% of it's employment 20 years ago, thanks to mechanisation (unavoidable) and farming out components to overseas.

Ford Oz is committed to a race to the bottom that only ends up in one place. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but Ford Australia is a frustrating example of missed opportunities and corporate vandalism practiced from the top down.
