hey guys,, im having some issues with my 98el.. when accelerating the revs rise, but the car feels like it has no torque and it just revs freely, theres no surge of power just noise and a slow rise to 100.
the trans oils fine as i only did it a few hours ago, but im thinking maybe the torque converter has gone.. what do you's think

Did you fill the transmission with the engine running..........Coz if you didn't the gearbox will be low

Ya fill the trans with the engine running untill the oil comes out of the bung hole on the side......!!!!

Sounds like its low in oil to me.....!!!!!

so why doesnt it mention this in the workshop manual?

it says to simply drive the car with light throttle for 4km's until its warm, then check.

naaa its full i ran it through the gears, checked n topped up.. i got it checked at a trans place yesterday and its fine, and they checked the timming and thats fine too, but they think the cats collapsed, so thats my next port of call.. thanks for the responces tho guys
