Above: Looking
like a cross between an XR8 and a Fairmont Ghia (and then some!) this ED XR
easily caught our attention with the sheer quality and thought gone into the
build - with detail touches extending to Fairmont Ghia spec full body colour
bumpers (both uppers & lowers) and bumper inserts - allowing the wheels and
front blinkers to stand out like...well, you know what I mean...

Above: It's
not hard to find words to describe this engine bay - clean as a whistle and
reflecting nicely the theme started on the outside of the vehicle - with
balanced use of chrome & braided line offset by the factory
metallic...polished intake manifold comes up a treat, as does the welded alloy
radiator overflow tank...

Above:
Seldom is an engine bay so perfectly
matched to the exterior - as this side shot shows. It's amazing just what
a little bit of polished alloy here and there and a bit more of that beautiful
"piano black" can do for a vehicle...

Above: What
more can I say? It's good to see that despite the aftermarket Edelbrock
intake manifold, this owner has managed to tidy the lot by retaining Ford's
original BBQ plate (that's what they were referred to in the factory) engine
cover hiding all of the messy stuff up front...

Above: With
that sort of quality on the exterior and engine bay - we were wrapped to see
that the interior had not missed out on the treatment - from the relatively rare
factory Momo steering wheel - inclusive of cruise control, to the seats which
were so good you really had to look twice to see that they were not
factory...very, very nice. The two-tone leather seats perfectly
complimented by the matching door trims just added to an effort that had quality
written all over! The silver dial faces, billet window winding handles
(it's nice to see not everybody has to have fast glass) and exposed speaker
grates only added to the overall look and continued the polished alloy theme
started on the outside...we love it!

Above: With
the front, interior & engine bay looking that good you wouldn't expect any
less of the rear and there was no way it was going to disappoint - showing off
it's original factory lines perfectly offset against those beautiful deep dish
bling-blings that couldn't have been any better chosen. And just check out
the detail having gone into lining that boot lid!
Above: But
before we get to the boot lid, how about this? It's enough to want you to
sink in and go to sleep - with the lone polished alloy piece (via the billet
alloy window winder) standing out like a beacon against the two tone door
trims...

Above: Okay
- just to torture you (okay, with something that looks that good, it's not
really torture is it?) before we get to the boot here's one more shot of that
gorgeous tail...

Above: That
neat it was looking like it was done in the factory - or at least as a
factory prepped show car say for one of the International Motor Shows way back
in 1994, the concept was pure pleasure to behold. Neat - punchy and yet
not so much as to destroy the entire boot space...and once again, very, very
classy...

Above: When
a car looks this good, you can't help but include as many shots as you can -
even if it is three of the rear! Well, this has got to be one of the best
quality, well thought out ED's that I have ever seen - and all done in a way
that almost has you convinced the factory did it. Pure simplicity - and I
can't speak highly enough about the owner's attention to detail or concept
complimenting the factory's work rather than destroying it. Absolutely
AWESOME & very, very nice - nicely themed and extremely well executed
- and a car that deserves to appreciate well into the future...well done!
