Above: Fortunately, those tail lights look a damned sight better than the crook ones associated with GM's VE based utility & HSV offerings! Five spoke rims have that "been there, seen them before" feel about them - as does the tail gate which is frightfully similar to that used on the AU - but how close is it really?
Above & Below : widened FG roof to give increased head room and an airier feel to the cabin all work great - but leave a slightly awkward square feeling to the back of the cab... And it seems the "me too" colour choices are out again with Ford's own version of the green GM has chosen to use so successfully on it's VE Commodore range. Fortunately, it's not a bad colour choice and I don't think you're going to lose too many brownie points by choosing this one!
Above: This shot exposes one of the FG utility's few flaws - rear wheel arches that look like they've been bulged after taking a hit from behind...Brute racing style!
Above: As far as I am concerned, the jury's still out on the styling of the FG utility - the sedan grabbed me from the first moment I laid eyes on it in the flesh - where as the ute still has angles that leave me feeling the BF - and even AU - looked better. Still, that is not to say it is all bad news - with plenty of good reasons to consider buying one and enough great angles to make this a favourite in anybody's driveway - except perhaps a one-eye'd GM supporter! So in my books, I'll give it a 7.5 / 10 which isn't bad, but is sure to grow as we see more and more of them on the road - including what you guys do to them as you customise & emphasize all their best features with styling kits and lots of bling bling - so let the customising begin!
