Above: FPV displayed it's
new F6X 270 on the turn-table at the corner of the Ford stand at the 2007 Sydney
International Motor Show, but struggled to stand out in it's white duco.
More photos & comments on this vehicle further down the page...

Above: The
lone Territory TX in it's less than stand-out 'Conquer' blue. Don't get me
wrong - nice colour, but for a Motor Show stand? Just seemed a little too
dull for me...

Above: This was about
the best looking Territory at Sydney, being a Ghia in the colour 'Seduce'.
Now if only I had shifted the camera a little over to the right...but back on
topic,
this colour looks something else when applied in monochrome as in this
particular example...very, very nice.

Above: The overall effect of these two Territory's was one of real class
- but with only three on show in total, it left you kinda feeling like something
was missing. I couldn't figure out whether it was because there nothing
else there to support the 'recreational vehicle' theme or whether it was
because the effort put into the display was well down on previous years
featuring only two non-FPV Terry's? Boy, you'd think for a model with a
few years under the belt they'd have at least done something to grab the
attention a little more...

Above: As promised, back to the new FPV Territory F6X 270... Gee,
was I the only one disappointed it was in white? With external
embellishments limited to a set of badges, body coloured side steps (how quickly
would they get damaged chipped!), different wheels, a different grill and a lick
of silver here and there, it's got to make you wonder...
And
it wasn't hard to notice that the wheels fitted were nothing like FPV's doctored
promo shots which made them look like 22" bling-blings with super low
profile rubber. A bit more practical maybe, but if you'd bought your car
without seeing one in the flesh you might be more than a little disappointed. The
270kW turbo-4.0L six lifted from the Typhoon is sure not to disappoint though -
matched to the equally brilliant ZF six speed auto. Stiffened suspension
helps keep the whole show from leaning like an old Holden, while 6-pot Brembo's
up front help keep the porky 2.2T monster under control when go turns to
STOP!!! - As well as helping to drain the wallet suitably come time for a
pad change. You've been warned...
Above: In stark contrast to the exterior, the interior was hard to miss
with it's body coloured leather seat & door trim inserts contrasted against
the black! Very, very nice... The F6X logos stitched into the
headrests were a nice touch. Could it be that somebody at FPV barracks for
the Magpies?

Above: Okay okay, so I just cropped the above interior shot from
this one, but the over-all effect was worth it so I did - there. Ha
ha! In the end the Territory F6 X 270 isn't a bad looking jigger, but
considering some of the body kitted Terry's that I've seen kicking around I
can't help but feeling a little disappointed. Well, that's it. Yep -
only 3 Territory's at the Sydney Motor Show and from our part, that's an abysmal
effort Ford.
